I am exploring some idea to modify either the rear window or the one between C and D pillars.

One idea is to modify rear window to be the same type from 4-Runner that we can just lower it instead of flipping it open. I don’t know why Toyota only provide this feature on 4-Runner not every other SUV. This is one of the most loved features.

Another potentially idea is to make the last row window to be similar to what you can often see on mini-Van to allow the people in the car to push it out a little bit. Me personally really miss this features from my old Element.

The purpose of these changes is to improves air circulations during driving so I don’t have to open up my front windows too much. It would also be quite helpful when it comes to car camping.

Does anybody know how much work it’s going to take to change the window style on LC?

The sliding rear window of the 4Runner is a nice feature. Honestly though, when it is open the dust and grime really roll into the vehicle. I really don’t see myself using the flip up on our lc’s all that frequently. I wouldn’t even think of attempting to convert the lc rear window into a sliding window, I would just purchase a 4Runner instead. I would think a project like that done properly would run an easy $10k.

These rear windows from LRA come to mind for the rear side windows. Someone might make pop out ones like you’re talking about.

I feel like converting the rear hatch to a roll-down window like a 4Runner would be a money-is-no-object fully-custom type modification. Probably cheaper to buy a 4Runner and use it when you want that window. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Converting the rear hatch to a drop window would be cost prohibitive and next to impossible without a total cut and graft of rear hatch. A slider type window probably could be fitted into the cargo area side window, but IMO would take away from the sleek sides of the LC.
