Great looking Chevelle. I tried buying one at Mecum in Indy 15 or so yrs ago. Green w/White Stripes, Black Bucket Seats 4 Speed. 70K mile Black Plate California Car. It was Bad Ass. Car went to $50K and guy wouldn't sell it

Mine went for quite a bit more than that….85K Camaro went for 35K which was cheap at the time but needed work and assembly of the interior and some other things. Both were matching numbers cars with lots of original parts that they were originally assembled with and properly dated distributors, water pump, heads, crankshafts, rear ends transmission, OEM Harrison radiators just loads of originality.

Back in the late 2007 time frame these things brought the big $$. I vowed to never own another car like this again. They were way too much work and time. I run the crap out of my 67 Camaro but would get rid of it in heart beat for a big block 70 Chevelle. But those are just too much $$$ now and most of them are just lip stick on a pig of car that wasn’t done very good at all.

You aren’t kidding there. My dad and I made a side hustle out of buying SB GMs and tossing in 427/454/455 crates. I sold my 68 Camaro awhile back and recently began looking for the Chevelle’s often shunned cousins (Skylark, Cutlass, maybe a conversion worthy LeMans) and quickly found that 350 2bl samples were WAY out of my recreational funds. Hell, my 05/06 TJR continues to solicit unimaginable offers sitting in my dad’s backwoods driveway.

The two cars I wish I had back right now are my 69 Buick GS and my 1967 Malibu. 6 figures a piece now, bought for less than $10k and sold for just double in the late 90’s.

What I really love about the automotive hobby in general is that most of us are here to help each other (there some A-hole exceptions) so what we don’t know we can hopefully find answers for. Old cars and especially muscle cars have for many years been my hobby. With the internet it’s also included for years now anything that I drive is not just transportation to me, it becomes an extension of my hobby to share, have some fun with and find a community for. I am definitely stuck in my ways for many things and hope to just turn the other way when others ideas counter mine….I am successful at that about 90% of the time…LOL!!

Well, I got my name after I pledged with my buddy Larry at Delta house. I'm a legacy cause my older brother Fred was a member. The boys welcomed us (sort of), and called him Pinto and me Flounder. We had actually tried to join Omega first, but the pretentious pricks there threw us out.

I can't believe you threw up in front of Dean Wormer. I don't know if anybody else on here got your reference by the way but it is hilarious.
