Traveling up to Taos, NM today and this dude decided I wasn’t moving out of the way fast enough. He’s definitely done this before, you could tell he wasn’t mad or anything just braced himself and boom.

Troopers showed up in 30mins which was nice. Of course no one stopped, not even the truck/trailer that I cut off getting out of the way…

Got his plate from the front camera and on the rear video you can see he almost side swiped a BMW sedan. Dude is a menace! I believe he’s got current plates so hopefully they show up at his house shortly.

Everyone needs a front & rear dash camera

Do not forget to ask for depreciation as well. Do you now now have one kneck pain, maybe it is related. Try to make this as expensive for him as possible. These kinds of people only learn lessons that way.

Just got home, hatch works fine thankfully, backup camera is fubar, hopefully there’s nothing behind this lower panel of the hatch but we’ll see.

As mentioned above I’ll be requesting depreciation etc. I’ll update if I hear anything about catching the douchebag!

That's a total bitch! I feel bad for you and what you and maybe some of your family had to go through. That douchbag shouldn't be on the road. Hope you get what you got coming to you. I don't think I could of handled it as well as you did. You avoided a confrontation that could have made things a lot worst. Good luck getting your truck fixed. I'm sure it will be fine.

Yeah I think the adrenaline kicked and I didn’t think of “recourse” besides stop the vehicle safely. This guy obviously has issues. Hopefully the cops get him soon. The vehicle is meh, just a thing with a huge payment right before I retire from the military (fml) but it’s replaceable.

Everyone needs a dashcam! The state troopers were seriously impressed and looked to be relieved that I had clear(!!) video evidence

That is just wild. I’ve had similar things while being on a motorcycle before, luckily not to the point I’ve received contact. Tends to consistently be someone in a truck.

Sorry man that's unfortunate. It would be nice if someone decided to 'disappear' this asshole. He did indeed look like it's just a regular thing he does to move people along. He belongs in a ditch w/ a GSW to that ill-bred head of his.

The OP did the right thing by not engaging this lunatic and deserves kudos for their cool headedness. I just pray the next person he bashes into is a member of MS-13. Assuming lunatic isnt ms-13 of course.

I’m calling the trooper Tuesday for status, I’ll update the thread. I’ll also update what the initial repair cost along with the end repair bill is.

If you do get his insurance, try not to say he intentionally rammed you. Which he did. It will void his coverage to cover you since it’s not considered an accident anymore. It’s weird, but I had that happen to a friend, and he had to use his uninsured/underinsured coverage.

This is wilde!

Hands position on steering wheel is wrong, better to place them at 10h10.

His truck is lifted, high center of gravity. I think I would have played a bit. I would have change lane, then performed a PIT maneuver. I'm almost sure I can flip such high center of gravity car many time.
