Again, I scoured the forum for any mention of this without success. On mornings with heavy dew/condensation or after evening rain, after pulling away from my driveway and coming to a stop at the first sign, I notice a lot of water rushing down my windshield from the roof of the 1958. It's enough that it always takes me by surprise and causes the auto wipers to go crazy. I keep forgetting to look up there in my morning stupor to determine the cause, though I suspect it is likely due to the "hump" on the 58's forward roof where (again, I suspect) higher trims have the sunroof and associated trimming.

I am bringing it here to see if anyone else experiences this. I keep forgetting to look, but I installed GX premium rails and a rack off of a luxury. I don't think those are likely culprits, but better safe than sorry. Has anyone experienced this and been coherent enough in the mornings to ID the cause? Thanks.

Is there more to this than water on the roof causing it? Water adheres to the roof panel and slides down when the vehicle moves.

This is a deluge haha, I know the post seems kind of ridiculous and I get it. I've refrained from asking here after 3 weeks of rain/humid mornings.

I have a fairly level driveway with a slight incline, and I park nose out (backed in). I pull away and drive past three 1 acre lots at about 10mph, then come to a stop before turning out of the neighborhood. At that stop, from 10mph - 0, at least a half gallon of water evenly spills down my windshield. I can see a situation where the T-slots are holding water, or the channels, but not one where the water evenly spills like a wake-up waterfall.

The logical side of my brain says its pooled up behind that hump on the forward roof panel. The 0500, barely a sip of coffee side of my brain refuses to consider that yesterday me wants to look up there in the morning to confirm. Just hoping some other 1958 (or sans sunroof Prado) owner has seen this too.

Mine does this as well. Just assumed it was normal since its a large flat roof.
Awesome, thanks. I have parked the Sequoia, a pilot, and a 4R out there just the same without them doing this. Knowing another 58 is seeing it gives me comfort that I don't have to revisit my rail install. I'm certain it is the hump where we don't have the glass. Thank you much boss.

You can try applying ceramic coating to the roof to see if it would make it slide down without accumulating.

For S&Gs next time you park, place a 2x4 down and park on top of it. If the waterfall fails to manifest it's self the next morning....... you have your answer....... LOL

Haha, I’ll have a contractor pour my driveway up to a 15 degree pad this weekend. I’ll just have to watch the girls leaving out on their skateboards… they’ll survive
Maybe tell them "good luck!" instead of "break a leg girls"
My In-law had the audacity to criticise my lack of panicking when my toddler son did his stuntman "he's all boy" stuff around the house. I used those two phrases exclusively when she was present. But...I digress.
