"Ventilated" seats?

I have the heated/ventilated seats in my Land Cruiser. I have got to say I am underwhelmed with the cooling feather of the driver's seat. I can see the blue lights come on in the controls, but don't notice any changes aside from that....

Same problem with my 26 Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid
Compared to my previous Porsche Cayenne, the Toyota ventilated seats are maybe 20 percent as effective, which is to say near useless.

Wife's defender's cooled seats are at the opposite end of spectrum as mine. Hers are too cold, we keep them at 1/4 for a while and turn them off after 10 minutes. How did Toyota screw this up so bad??
