That's a good document, I use an abbreviated method to help isolate which circuit has the draw doesn't work every time ....... but has worked more times than not.
Open the hood, the rear hatch (if the battery is in the rear) and roll down the driver's window.
Turn off the headlights and radio
Disconnect the Neg battery cable and any charge monitoring connector (if equipped).
Set my multimeter to DC and use the 10amp port.
Connect the red lead from my multimeter to the neg post with a small pair of vice grips and the black lead to the neg cable.
Wait at least 1 hour for the vehicle to go to sleep.
Pull each fuse one at a time and make note of the multimeter's reading.
When all the fuses have been removed, I have a road map of what's using juice when the vehicle is supposed to be asleep.
The second method........ remove the fuse, record the reading, replace the fuse and wait 30 minutes before the next fuse gets pulled, rinse and repeat.
On vehicles with under dash fuse panel(s) I rig up something to keep the door switch depressed.
I started this process on my LC but gave up as there are so many inter-connected circuits, the early results were hard to determine what was actually drawing juice and after reading so many people were having different levels of issues with dead batteries........... I said uncle and just live with it.
