This Dude Beat His 250 for 2.5 Years and It held Up Outstandingly....

Ryan says in the video that he's rotating it out because it's time for a new vehicle. And also said Land Cruiser content is likely still going to happen since Toyota keeps their media fleet stocked with them.

My only exception to the video was saying you have to fill up every 200 miles. His E tires, roof rack, and the fact he takes his off-roading regularly means I'm not about to discount his personal experience. I believe his range sucked. My range has only dipped below 300 miles once, and that was when I had 800 lbs of filmmaking gear on a 3 hour 80mph+ road trip. After 5k miles my range is around 330-340 miles. That equates to ~5.5 hours of driving between fill-ups. By that time I need a pit stop.

I wouldn't mind a bigger gas tank, but the blanket 200 miles between fill-ups is not the norm.
When I top off my tank, Distance to Empty says 216 miles. I wish I got 300/tank! I bought my base model when they first came out in 2024, out wheels and 34” tires on asap. UpTop roof rack, and hundreds of pounds of things inside. (And on top.) I still love it, but $6.50/gall. Of premium gas sucks.

This mileage thing is so interesting. Distance to empty for me is 285 and I'm on 33.4" tires and 2.5" lift. With 35's I was 265 distance to empty and this was in mid-winter too. I guess it could have to do with terrain we drive like hills/mountains. Temperatures. Eco/Sport. And lead foot or conservative. Weight of rig. And then what we have on top and on sides -aerodynamics. So many factors to consider certainly not apples to apples on most comparisons.

I would imagine that a great deal of complainants have not gone through the trip computer on the infotainment to actually reset their historical data for refreshed calculations. That’s was took me from 205 to over 275-280 indicated with no change outside of having far exceeded the break-in period of thirstiness.

I'm one of them... So I should do a true reset on infotainment screen instead of just using the odometer button hold down to reset? I learn from this forum everyday.
Truth is I barely use the infotainment screen other than looking for phone numbers recently dialed.

I can’t state that is an absolute truth, but I can say that I reset my trips numerous times and was stuck at 300-320 miles DTE indicated. Someone in here pointed out the trip history reports on the infotainment when I was publicly discussing with @ultane

I was already getting 375-390 from fill yo 0 indicated. The second I reset both trips and that infotainment log I was jumping 20-30 miles per fill. Took maybe 3 or 4 cycles and my DTE was up where it should be. I average 23.5-24, and am happy my DTE is at least close.

This is it, and I bet Ryan would even confirm the same if he saw this post. I’ll miss seeing his Land Cruiser content, but get that he’s an automotive journalist, not a Land Cruiser YouTuber, so he’s gotta cycle vehicles to keep coverage fresh.
In one of his videos on the Scout while back, he said he was going to sell the LC in order to buy the Scout, so this has been the plan.
