Prospeed rack?

Yea I never received a bunch of nuts and had to go purchase separate. Funny enough the owner said he was gonna send them. I have a second awning quick mount on order but I think I might cancel. Try hitting them up on instagram, they spend a lot of time on there lol

The issue was resolved. They were having email problems.
looks great. Does the rack completely protect the shark fin on the back? I'm planning of loading a wide kayak on top, can't have it rest on the shark fin.

Hi. I think the top of the fin sits below the high point of the rails and cross bars. I'll check with a straight edge and get back to you.
I noticed on the companies website that the pic showing the back end does not have anything across the back it's just open, and to me doesn't look finished, but you have a cross bar on the end.
Did you do that yourself or did it come with that bar for the end?

The cross bars are included.
The top edge of the shark fin sits below the top edge of the side rails. The cross bars sit a couple of mms below the top edge of the rails. See the pics. Your kayak mounts (attached on top of the cross bars) should give you enough clearance.

Question for those of you who purchased the prospeed roof rack. How are things going with fit and finish? Any coating or sagging issues? Pros and or cons since purchase? Any issues with roof top tent if used? Did any of you purchase the side window mount and still use it?

Overall I'm happy with it. I've had some issues with the front two feet that use VHB tape to stick - I'm about to do round 3 of tape to hold them in place. I don't mind the two piece construction - it seems sturdy enough for what I'm doing. I love how low profile it is and the minimal wind noise.

I have a sherpa refract I installed on my GX 550 beginning of December 2025. Unfortunately I noticed there wasn't much R&D regarding aerodynamics with this rack. It generates a lot of noise on the highway, and it's knocked over 2mpg MPG off of my highway mileage, and as a result has reduced the range of an already relatively small fuel tank.
I have a pulley system rigged up on the ceiling of my garage for previous vehicle accessories, I'm contemplating only installing it as needed or replacing it with either the Prospeed or Westcott.
I've also noticed some rust already coming through on the fasteners even though it is garage kept.
