Many places nowadays just get a pre-measured pattern and laser cut the pieces to fit. Those pieces will have cutouts for the parking sensors so that they are not covered. That being said, not all shops have this capability and even those that do still have the ability to do custom pieces.

I have PPF on the front clip (just the painted parts), plus the piano black mirror and door caps. I don't have any issues with the parking sensors. And, yes, the PPF has a circular cutout around the parking sensors.

I have PPF on the front with sensors covered (and it is cut to perfectly cover the sensors) and there is no change in function. And unfortunately the Nannie’s I have fully turned off still function.

The clear PPF can be installed over sensor without malfunction. However, that sensor surface is a bit higher than the bumper piece which cause some bubbles around the transition round edge ( because PPF is thick one). My installer tried to poke few needle holes to air out and pressed the PPF in…it didn’t work well then he decided to cut out the round piece over the sensor.
It also happened same thing to my friend’s LC
