OTT tune now available for the LC250

I can afford the difference. I still would rather pay less per gallon. Not sure how your response makes any logical sense.

Then go buy a different vehicle that specs 87 octane.

The T24A-FTS will run safely on 87 octane right now, the ECU will just pull boost and timing for safety margin. You will have less power and marginally lower fuel economy, there is no getting around that.

Are you looking for a tune that de-tunes the engine so you can save $8.00 per tank of fuel? If you drive 15000 miles a year, and you average 20 MPG combined that is 750 gallons of fuel per year. The cost difference is approximately $350 per year to burn 87 octane vs 91 octane.

A tune will run around $700.00. So you would take 2 years to amortize out the cost of the tune in fuel cost savings, while also making the vehicle less powerful because no tuner with any competence is going to turn up power while allowing for lower octane fuel.

I'm not looking to use a different octane. I can afford the higher one. I was pointing out the lack of logic in the statement.

No. You were making a statement devoid of critical thinking or basic research into the subject matter at hand: the tuning of forced induction reciprocating piston engines that burn gasoline.

There is no free lunch as it were, and the cost of the tune negates most any benefits to cost savings in fuel grade.

The notion of tuning for 87 octane versus the stock 91 octane tuning, is the opposite of logical. Not only would you incur extra costs by tuning that will negate any savings, but you would end up with an inferior result compared to the stock engine in pretty much every other measurable output.

Living proof of the Dunning-Kruger effect. :ROFLMAO:

Why did you buy it if you knew it required premium fuel, or did you not know? Then complain about it. As a member stated, you can run regular in it, your performance and mpg will suffer. There are tons of GX460 owners who run regular in their vehicles.

That's akin to buying a decent sports car and then complaining about the price of the Z-rated tires.

Why do some people whine so much about premium when there are far more positives than negatives...like better detergent, better mpg (seriously), better HP, sounds like you shouldda bought a Prius.

No whining. Have no problem with the octane or the price. Just pointing the logic fallacy of the person's statement. Seems like this is tricky for everyone. I'll try to type slower next time.

He’s smarter than everyone else. Just ask him.

Everyone else is in the Dunning Kruger Effect zone, which is convenient for Seratti since he’s evidently (based on what we can see) a firm believer in trying to lump anyone who holds opposing views as illogical morons barely removed from animals.

This is the low hanging fruit for people who are intellectually lazy, or insecure in their ability to defend their own view points. Just wave the “Dunning Kruger Effect” magic wand and you can instantly win any argument! Which is really pretty ironic that the Dunning Kruger enthusiasts of the world might actually be those who are most accurately described by it.

These threads always become so funny when everyone gets prickly. It’s such a trivial topic to see people get persnickety over. It’s good for a chuckle at least.

Isn’t that one of the major reasons the internet was really invented for?

1.) Arguing with and shit talking strangers.

2.) Selling things no one needs.

3.) Adult “entertainment”….

Yes but I think the order should be 3, 1, 2, and back to 1 again 😆

Oh now you go to the ol' motte-and-bailey logic fallacy! LOL! You are making this too fun. 😂

Ok, enough. We've poisoned this thread thoroughly. Apologies everyone.
