Rubicon 392 switching to 2027 Landcruiser
I have a 2027 Landcruiser arriving in December with the 20” wheels. My plan is to switch to the Toyota OEM 18” rims. From researching here and talking to Ed Martin Toyota, it looks like if you get the 18” option available (Dealer installed) when you build the Landcruiser it is the 18” x 8” rim (PTR56-35242-F1).

If I understand what I have read here it will be ok to run 265/70 R18s on these rims.

After looking at the edmartins OEM wheel page (Toyota Trail Teams Wheel & Cap Charts - Ed Martin Trail Teams), I have two related questions around the 18” x 8” rims:
  • How wide would the 18” x 8 “ rims with 265/70 R18s be? Specifically, would the tires extend out of the fender wells enough to where rocks and debris we flying up and hitting the body?
  • Should I consider one of the other Toyota OEM 18” rims? Maybe the 7” or 7.5”
For context, this will be my daily driver with light off-roading. My off-roading mainly consists of service roads at Land Between the Lakes and exploring logging roads.
Basically, I am trying to figure out the best combination of 18" OEM wheel and tire for daily driving and light off-roading. We I started researching, I was not expecting for there to be three widths of the OEM 18"

Thank you,
Maxx

What @RideWithYanu said. Also, offset is measured from the hub to the center of tire mounting point. Whether a wheel is 8”, 7.5” or 7” makes no difference IRT poke. +45mm is the Goldilocks offset for the LC trim, and that wheel is exactly that.

Thank you! That is helpful. The offset is what was confusing me.

The rims would be 8” wide
Tires @ 265/70R18 = around 10.4” wide tread

I am running those wheels, before they became an option on the Land Cruiser. They were sold initially for the Tacoma.

I like the offset and they would be fine for 265/70/18 tires. I am running one size up 275/70/18 and they extend to the edge of the wheel wells. Even with tires slightly wider than the size you mention, I don't get anything flung up the sides by the tires.

If you look at the third photo and imagine the tires sticking out about 5mm less, that'd be what you are looking at.

I tried to initially buy this Land Cruiser sitting on dealer-installed Tacoma TRD wheels and 265/70/18 tires:
