Took our LC to Nova Scotia last month.

I was concerned about the “truck like” ride being uncomfortable for a (3) day, 1200 mile trip. Especially with all the talk about wind noise, engine noise, vibration … etc. My concerns were further exasperated by riding on BFG KO3s and with a Thule Motion 3 XL on the FE style roof rack.

Our last few trips to Nova Scotia were in our 2020 Touring Edition Subaru Ascent and those rides were very comfortable. In reality the Ascent’s interior was nicer than the LC’s and the technology in the Subaru was on par with the LC even though the Subaru was (6) years older.

I was however, pleasantly surprised in that I found the LC to actually be more comfortable and less fatiguing than the Ascent. MPGs averaged 18ish and the small fuel tank obviously made for more fuel stops but not overly frustrating. I found the limited range is more of an issue when driving on 400 mile trips where the Ascent’s interior could accomplish the trip with only one fill up and the LC required two.

Over all I was pleased. The premium fuel hurt my wallet, especially in Canada.

Total mileage was 3700 and change. We drive from Norfolk, VA to Dover, DE to Waterville, ME and finally to Kingston, Nova Scotia. On the way back from Kingston to Baddeck, Cape Breton, then over to Chéticamp Cape Breton, back to Waterville, on to Dover and back to VA.

One week after returning to VA I drove from Norfolk, VA to Grundy, VA (about 440 miles one way). This trip is where I found the range to be most frustrating.

Glad you made it OK, and hope the locals were kind. Surely there were some photos taken showing the sights?

I reside out west, and have never experienced the east coast. One day. Maybe I can live vicariously through your photos.
