New potential in-dash storage??

I turned mine into this......

No, I opted for 3 extra switches instead.

(edit) when it got cold, I tried to remove this trim panel (3D printed) I got off a guy selling them and it broke into 4 pieces. I have modeled it and plan to mill it out of a solid block of Aluminum as soon as I get my CNC uncovered.....LOL

EOD, Do you happen to have this 3D file or the contact you purchased the first attempt from? I want to print one myself with magnets for use to hold my HAM faceplate.

This feels like we should just have a community CAD model of a blank that fills that space, and people can easily print whatever meets that specific needs for that area!

Installed the little storage box dash panel from Azn as mentioned above. It turns out to be the perfect size for my MagSafe iPhone wallet, which I remove each time I lay the phone on the charger, and now I've got the perfect little storage cubby to keep it out of the way! I actually think it looks better than the long blank area. Highly recommended for such a simple little thing.

A couple different posts got me wondering something - could we get a little nook storage spot built in next to the camera button and above the USB outlets.

@EOD Guy posted a picture of his panel mod and mentioned there is a fair amount of open space behind the panel. (Can't tell how fixed those wires and tab are?)

@bgeorger has 3D printed many of us a great coolbox insert. (Is that way too complex??)

What's the potential to marry these two, and 3D print an insert that makes use of this empty in dash space- if nothing else, a place to put your key fob or a tin of Altoids....
would love it if the beat-sonic amplifier could fit here to hopefully reduce all the stuff that needs to be taken out to install.
