I've been trying to decide between a 4Runner OR and a 1958, but the last few days I'm leaning strong towards the LC and hope to have one in the next few weeks. Not a rock crawler (yet) but I live on a dirt road that gets no maintenance whatsoever and has an arroyo that fills up when it rains. I've always had Toyotas and miss my Tacoma. I'm watching the Carfax website and also Carvana and my local dealership for a '24 or so. My purpose here is to lurk and learn.

Have you had the opportunity to drive both in quick succession, and be able to hop back and forth between the interiors?

I had a 6G Pro on order after circumstances prevented me from accepting delivery of my 24 FE. The stop sale and allocation delays put me in the fortunate position of being able to jump back and forth with units on lot. Both are amazing vehicles, but they also cater to different demos and personalities. They really went full send on the “sporty” feel and tactile details in the 4R. So much so it reminded me of what Honda did with the civic in the mid-2010s, and I knew I was trying to appreciate all of the things that would need to grow on me.

One of them actually fits you, and I recommend physically figuring that out if you can!

Go to a dealership and take a test drive and check some out...

Thanks for the tip, I plan to go to the city early and take all day to check everything out. But I do like that the 1958 has less tech inside than the 4Runner. We'll see how it goes. I have to wrap up some other business this week before my inspection tour, and all my liked vehicles may be gone by then.
