6'0", 205 pounds, no problems fitting. Can't get into a 2022 Tacoma without limboing under the roof. No such problems in the LC. Have had Jeeps, Blazer, 98 and 05 4Runner and, as a placeholder, a 19 Kia Sorento AWD. Currently also have a 1996 RHD Prado. This is my favorite vehicle, with the 98 4Runner a close second and oddly, the 2019 Sorento in third (Prado is simply a different animal altogether, but super fun). LC (1958) drives great and has better gas mileage than almost any 4wd I've owned. Kia had the best interior and infotainment system I've seen; everything just worked. LC is a close second; a bit glitchy on the Android Auto. HVAC controls on the 24 LC and the 05 4Runner are outstanding. Driveability on the LC is great. A bit of wind noise, but super comfortable for long road trips. 4wd: Kia and 05 4Runner had ground clearance issues and lots of expensive plastic waiting to get damaged. Land Cruiser seems solid. Haven't had any gnarly experience, but it is well suited to standard FS trails and mild to moderate off roading. Need a bit bigger tires and skid plates to beef that up a bit, but it's never going to be a rock buggy. Range on the LC is weak; 315 miles is about tops. That and payload are my biggest gripes. Overall, really happy with it.
This forum might be an echo chamber for ya - we all are very happy with the LC I would say. You can do a search on here for some folks expressing why they dont/didnt like it (a few have sold theirs already) or just have some gripes with it. Its obviously not perfect - and like Tim says the gas tank (range) is probably the most disliked spec of the whole thing (theres a whole thread on that too). I'm very happy with it - it’s great for hot climates like AZ with the 3 zone AC. extremely comfortable to drive on road trips etc etc. as long as it suites your needs i dont think you’ll be disappointed
Well I'll be the naysayer. It's a 4 banger, and I owned and loved many a 4-cylinder. But this one, the sounds it makes are mostly disappointing. It sounds like a generator. From a stop the drone on acceleration, it's hard for me to get over. That and the small fuel tank, the range is pretty dismal. But it's does cruise very well and is very competent off road!
Fun to drive, great in the snow and who didn’t want a Land Cruiser when you were 18 years old!
If you have to think this much about the purchase the LC is probably not for you. It’s for enthusiasts that love the entire heritage of this vehicle. It is truly amazing how this new generation has captivated buyers. If you don’t have a great desire to get one just save yourself some time and money and get a Jeep wrangler or bronco sport
I’m 71 years old and have owned many 4X4’s, Toyota is hands down the best. I would never waste my money on a Ford or the worst vehicle ever made a Jeep.
Pros: Does a lot of things well, off road capability and features but yet good road manners, I find it quite peppy for my needs, especially comfortable on long trips, roomy but still manageable size for suv, nice features and controls, customizable, rugged looks, very sure footed in any weather conditions, tows my offroad trailer well, can haul ample gear for outdoor pursuits.
Cons: hybrids take some getting used to maximize efficiency, fuel range is low, towing settings are cumbersome, lots of nanny alarms, Apple Car Play interface is glitchy.

LC 250 is an absolute stud. Beast off road, comfortable on road. It’s outperformed $100k off roaders. Only complaint is the tank size. MPG will vary based on your location with elevation etc. I think you’ll love it, especially if you enjoy the outdoors and occasional off roading.

No regrets here. Bought mine July 2024, stock black 1958, very pleased. My 4th TLC over 35 years, the best overall.

I agree.
The biggest question mark is the engine. Many of us are experiencing piston slap and are getting little to no guidance from Toyota which is concerning (besides a short block replacement).

Hearing a rattle noise at low gear acceleration.
5th gen 4runner edges out LC250. You get a good value for the money. 250 is a little too software electronics heavy.

I went out looking for a 4runner. I test drove one at CarMax to get a feel for it as my last one was in 1997. I loved it. Then, the dealership we went to didn't have any 4runners. They had 4 LC's. I drove one. We noticed the space in the front seat right away. That sold us.
The other features we liked was the air/heat controls in the back seat.
Needless to say 2 1/2 months later my LC arrived!

The feel and commanding view of the road in the driver's seat immediately put miles of separation between it and other vehicles. The view over the hood is perfect. Then when I felt how responsive it was for a hybrid truck that size I was really enjoying it. Only issue was the salesman's talking the entire time. I wanted to feel and hear the machine but this guy was Incessantly yapping about features I already knew about.
Don’t really like mine very much, but I’m mostly driving on pavement. Kind of expensive to take for a fun off rd blast and scratch all up t. I hate the off the line lag the most. Miss my v8. Drives ok. Thinking the 4Runner would have been better

Not sure how old you are, but I definitely did not want a Land Cruiser when I was 18. Back then, I was only interested in manual transmission Porsches, Ferraris, and Lamborghinis. That interest has never left me.
