NashFabCo Half Ladder and Dual Jerrycan Installed

I've had it on my LC since this post with zero issues. I've even taken it on and off a few times just to check and verify things and gosh it is so dang simple and easy to work with. I'm planning to use the Jerry can attachment unit here in a couple weeks actually as my water jug carrier for a camping trip I have planned so I can report back on that.

Outside of that its been doing well through cold (~40F-ish), all kinds of rain, mist, fog, heat (90F+) which basically has been the range of weather of the SoCal area I have been in. Its also done well on the desert/dirt trails without the Jerry can attached to it. Overall, I love my purchase and very happy with it. It might not be the conventional ladder that folks are looking for which I think a lot more folks use their ladders to climb up on for their roof I use mine more as a utility attachment point.

Right on! I think it solves a host of issues while not creating a big one. I love my rear hatch window. Thanks. Prob wait for sale and then get one.

I just noticed this one on Amazon and it appears to be similar if not identical. For $160 shipped might be worth a try. I’ve been looking for an easy outside water/fuel storage solution.

That seems to basically be a near 1:1 match, design and implementation as mine just that it seems it would only attach to the right side of the LC based on the attachment bracket that get inserted right under the rear window. I really don't admitting that either because I'm really big on supporting local and American made/manufactured equipment and have really tried to buy and support Amazon less over the months/year+ now.

I do know that NashFab does offer discounts a couple times a year, that is why I held out on ordering my two items and basically saved me on the shipping costs and a bit more if I remember correctly.

“If adding RotoPax Bracket, it might trip the rear collision sensor and apply the brakes!”.

Unless I’m missing something I don’t see and sensors on the hatch.

Depending on where the RotoPax is attached most likely on the bottom ladder step it would trigger the sensors that are in the red circles. Now it most likely wouldn't trigger on the upper ladder level. I can confirm that the JerryCan from NashFab that I picked up and throw on my ladder doesn't cause any issues with the sensor as it its on the upper/center areas of the ladder far away from the sensors.

If you look at my original initial post the 3rd picture you can see the location of my JerryCan holder and the distance from the bumper and the sensor that would in theory would be below it. That might give you a better idea of the highs and such you'd want to work with on your solution with the ladder. Hope this helps!

So just a small warning to anyone that is planning to potentially utilize the NashFabCo half ladder I've had it on my truck for a good while. Today I took it off because I was going to go through a car wash (that failed they don't allow roof racks weirdly). Any who, when I took it off I did unfortunately notice that the two screws that hold the bottom bracket against the truck's door has unfortunately caused extremely minor damage to the paint. I was a bit surprised, but at the same time I wasn't because I think it partially was my own fault and just a how the ladder is designed to attach.

Any who, if you do install a ladder of this type or any that have screwed or attachments on your paint/metal I highly recommend putting multiple layers of clear PPF 3M on the area. After remounting the ladder I added ~5 layers of clear PPF 3M to the area that the screws were going to hit and I think this will help a lot longer. Basically, I previously had 1 layer and the screw unfortunately went through it and marked the spot it touched the paint/metal. It is what it is, I'm honestly getting good use out of the ladder for what I wanted and I got plenty of other little odd and end marks else where from day to day and trail stuff. Alternative I'm going to check the connection when I get back from my trip here and I might add some more PPF 3M and maybe an additional rubber pad or some type of other 'buffer' just for extra peace of mind.
