Long time lurker, first time poster..
So here’s my 2025 LC250 (It’s called Prado here), GCC spec, Gasoline, fully loaded. I absolutely love it.
We don’t get the hybrid version here, so our LCs comes with 3rd row seats. I guess I would take the 3rd row seats over the hybrid any day..
I noticed our spec comes standard with a front bumper garnish. I dont see it on other LCs in this forum.
Some mods that I did to my mall cruiser, all are quick and relatively cheap diy mods. (Except PPF):
- PPF all around, including lights.
I noticed that the blue is easily scratched?
-Rear windows tinting.
- Replaced wheels and tires. Got a great deal on used FE wheels (matt black) with factory Toyo tires in 265/70/18. My LC originally came with the same design wheels but in dark grey color and Yokohama AT 265/65/18.
-Changed the mud flaps.
I ordered the new ones (also OEM) through the local dealer. Similar to FE ones but it only says “Land Cruiser” on it.
- Installed dashcam from FitCamX. I like the OEM look, install is very simple except the snapping the top plastic part in place.
-Added tailgate light. (Amazon)
Should have been there from factory, but still, it’s one of the easiest mods.
-Replaced horn with OEM lexus premium horn.
-Changed the door lights. Source is Amazon.
-Installed Off-Roam MagSafe phone holder.
Nothing beats it in my opinion, sturdy, no shaking, feels premium.
-Installed Screen Pro Tech on both screens.
The dashboard was tough to install. I had to use the spare film that they sent me. It turns out that the screen gets hot when it’s on even for few minutes and it makes the film impossible to install no matter how much solution you spray, so the trick is to make sure the screen is cool before attempting the installation as the film has to be tucked in on all sides.
- Added 2 rear cameras for the kids car seats that feeds the video to a screen in the front console. It fits perfectly above the wireless charger. I cant use the usual car seat mirrors as I like using the digital rear view mirror. So I opted for this solution instead.
- Added the OEM engine hood insulator, got it from the local dealer. My aim was to reduce engine noise in the cabin. Not sure if it actually made a difference. Non of the GCC spec LC250 comes with it. Some say it’s not for noise insulation but it’s standard on hybrid engines to insulate in case of fire? Will it cause my engine to trap more heat? Not sure, but I installed one regardless.
Future mods, parts coming next week:
- cup holder organizer: Center Console Cup Holder Divider... Amazon.com
- illuminated door sills. I got it from ebay, part number is: PT944-60240.
- New wheel caps with the word Toyota instead of the logo, in black. Also from ebay. Part number: PT998-35221-3S.
-Replace the rear bumper diaper with the half cover or some other option.
Things that I dont like about my LC:
-No door lock/unlock button on the passenger side. Does it come standard on US version? Can it be retrofitted?
-Lack of storage options for the front seats. Hence the cup holder organizer
Finally, big thanks to all members, there are some amazing info on this forum.
