After a hunting season and winter. I have a set of 17’s I thought I might try but after seeing this on the stock 18’s I wasn’t gonna waste my time even trying it. Both front rims were worse than the rear ones.

Sorry stupid question, are your pics showing wear on the rims from something rubbing between the caliper and barrel?
 
Same question, what are we looking at here? Did the finish wear off of the wheels? And did it wear off just on the inside of the wheels?
 
Looks like something was maybe sprayed on it and wiped off on the one wheel ?
 
That definitely hasn’t got anything thing to do with the wheel size or calipers. You’d have big scratch marks not a smooth finish .
 
I’m running 17” Method rims without issue, with Mickey Thompson, Baja tires, 285/75/17.
