Anyone else find that just holding the wheel isn't enough to keep your LTA happy? Even in a straight stretch of highway I have to continuously wiggle the wheel or else it throws up warnings and stops working. Makes the feature pretty much worthless. Is mine broken or does LTA just blow this bad?

My lane tracing works well, no complaints. I tend to hold the steering wheel pretty lightly to allow it to steer with the curves. It rarely gives me alerts. Wondering if something is wrong with yours.

I think you have to hold the wheel lower down, not on the top. Not sure if you’ve tried that but in the pic you are holding top of the wheel.

When I compare it to the Volvo I had prior, it's pretty much exactly the same. Even though that was 2018 tech... Now, if I were to compare it to my wife's Kia, which can go without touching the wheel for minutes at a time if it's a straight road, it's not as good. I'm still okay with it though.

I've not had an issue with it....... top, left, right, bottom and knee, all have worked flawlessly.

I received that same message today on the highway, when going through a section with faded lane markings.

I never get the “you’re not holding the wheel message” but I do find that it “bounces” a bit.

That is, it stays pretty much in the center of the lane, but it’s constantly drifting a bit left, then it corrects then drifts a bit right, then corrects. Just feels like it’s constantly searching for the center

I cannot say that I have had an issue with mine, I lightly keep my left hand at roughly 6pm and it has never given me that message.

It steers surprisingly well, keeping me in the lane even in some fairly significant curves.

It is as good as the system in my wife's 2024 BMW X5.

My guess? You're blocking the 'driver' cam with it being at the 12 o'clock position and it's forcing you to take control as it can't see your face (i.e. you are awake). You can turn this 'feature' off, BTW.

What does it do if there is a rock in the road? Steer you right into it?

Periodic “squeezing” of the wheel in the 7 o’clock position on the wheel keeps my LTA working without issue. I use this thing on just about every drive.

Probably why you are required to keep your hand on the wheel. Of course there will most likely be someone that'll try and sue because it didn't "self drive" around an object in the road.

The driver cam has absolutely nothing to do with it. You could disable the driver cam in your lane Tracing will still work.

Yes, I know.. mine is turned off and my LTA works fine... although, I do still get alerts from time to time staying at the 12 position. Does not turn off the LTA on mine. Just brainstorming here...
