Land Cruiser Trim headlight swap to First Edition Lights

Just an FYI - when the guy fixing my LCLC had to order one rectangular headlight, I believe it was $1670ish (for one). It’s been a while but that figure is close.

This Toyota dealer in the USA has directly swapped LC250 headlights with OEM Toyota parts and made a video about it:

One could do the swap at home then have a dealer or anyone with a GTS computer initialize the module.

IIRC the headlight initialization procedure can be performed without GTS+ although a more convoluted process.

I never did. I never found someone who wanted to swap and never got around to making it happen some other way. I'm still open to the idea. What part of Colorado are you in?

Fort Collins here. I'm giving up, just finding a dealership or aftermarket shop willing to do the installation is proving not worth the effort, on top of $3000+ in parts.

Are you going Rectangle to Round, or the other way?

I just watched the Ed Martin video on the swap and it looks pretty darned plug-&-play if you have all the right bits (which would require a parts list if you're ordering, but should come of the other car if you're swapping) for what that's worth...

Rectangle to round is what I was thinking. The Olathe KS Toyota dealership sells this kit but when I called to ask, they order the parts individually.

Yeah, Ed Martin sells a "kit" too... but I imagine it must also be a collection of separate Toyota parts... Toyota's probably never gonna market a "if you want to fix our design goof, here's the kit" kit.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but personally I think both OEM headlight options look significantly better than those.

I could but I’m skeptical of aftermarket headlights. No matter the brand or price point it seems like half the post I see online of aftermarket headlights is due to an issue someone is having. Although it’s quite a bit more expensive oem seems to be the best option long term(although they can have issues too but less likely)
