King shocks suspension build, give me your .02

I debated Kings but went BP-51, zero regrets, similar price range, now tuning my compression and rebound damping and wow, you can dial this in. A dream on the road

I have kings with adjusters on my 2018 Taco and even at their "softest" setting, they're still rough for daily driving.

Haven't done anything off road yet, but it seems these will be able to keep up too 👌🏼

GL with whatever you choose!
oooh interesting. I will look into that. I just want something that will make the car ride better and reduce body roll.

If you live in a salt state the king shock bodies won’t fare well even after one winter. My friend was looking at some for his Tundra and the shop advised against them for this sole reason. He ended up with 2.5 Fox from accutune.

To reduce body roll you could also look at a stiffer sway bar - believe there is a forum on this, it’s not too expensive of an upgrade.

Obviously you’ll lose some off road capabilities going that route but doesn’t sound like you’re doing anything crazy so should be okay.

I have the King adjustable' s and it practically eliminated the body roll I had with the OEM suspension. I love the ride now.

Exactly what I’m hoping to achieve. I spoke to the king shock guys and they said it would lift it minimum 2”… still might do it

At most just some light off roading! I’d like to go faster 🫡

There are sway bar upgrades for lc250? With disconnect?

Haven’t had it off road yet. Have a trip planned for late October. Will let you know

Im a novice so forgive my ignorance, but the only sway bar upgrade I’ve seen is for the rear. TBH mine has sway bar disconnect and I was thinking of upgrading the sway bar - and it never dawned on me about the “disconnect” part. I’m guessing based on these facts (and quick google search) only the front sway bar disconnects?

I had this experience on my Tacoma. Kings improved the ride in all facets but they rusted quickly with all the salt used in my area during winter.

The sway bar disconnect only works under 18 mph iirc. I tried to speed down a dirt path with it disconnected and it kept engaging back, was wondering what I was doing wrong haha.

so does a u-haul truck. but nobody is talking about that :ROFLMAO:
Something will give. Toyota would’ve gladly had 0 body roll from factory, but they didn’t, and thats the balance they struck.

I am looking forward a solution to my problem. I am not a serous off-roader but will be travelling on washboard/corrugated roads whilst towing an off-road caravan - my payload is running on max allowed as i have a bull bar and winch, 2 people a fridge and the usual recovery gear etc and the towball weight of around 210 kg -I have only 580 kg payload for my version. The LC is also an around town daily runner. What would my best options be for suspension be?

After doing so much research, there's an easy answer for this.

How much are you willing to spend? :ROFLMAO:

Dobinsons for salt environments and quality ride. MRR.

I am not an expert but did do a lot of research prior to recently pulling the trigger on adding the Dobinsons MRR suspension. Given that you are in Australia then you probably know how popular Dobinsons is over there. And from your description of your plans with your truck I think this brand is well suited for you, since you can purchase the springs and set-up based on your weight and what you tow or carry. As @GTV says - if you want to spend a bit, the MRR's are outstanding in my opinion. I think one of the more durable suspensions on the market and there are many adjustments you can make on these to dial in the type of ride you are looking for as well as the ride height for lift. You have the ability to change from firmer highway driving to softer rebound settings for corrugated dirt roads.
I recommend at least inquiring about them as you must have tons of knowledgeable sources for them in Australia.

Money isn’t the issue but ride comfort is 1. Whilst towing enabling me to raise the GVM 2. When using it on the road as a normal car - I don’t want something that is too harsh.
