I don’t want my LC to beep when I unlock, lock or close hatch. Is there a way to delete this? I have Carista and can’t find a setting. This will be annoying when hunting and trying to be quiet. I don’t mind the lights blinking, but hate the beep.

Not that I can find. I'm trying to locate the piezo and disable it. You can't do it in the settings nor Carista. Probably some DoT requirement.Got it off on door locks but can’t find anything for back hatch?
...and I might add -- that the power liftgate can be a big battery drain, which is another way to exacerbate the small 12V battery issue...After my previous vehicle had an automatic rear lift gate, I'm actually glad to have a manual one with my 1958... I rarely found the auto liftgate convenient, and in many cases took longer to open/close than I can do myself...plus, shortly before I got rid of that car, it started creaking badly, and I was waiting for it to become to an expensive repair (but fortunately never had to deal with that before I got the LC).
Yup I did the locks like that but can imagine getting my turkey gear out in the back with all that beeping!Settings>vehicle customize>door control >feedback lights and feedback tone to delete lights and beep when locking. Can’t turn off beeping or lights when opening hatch. Kinda glad this thread was started, I hunt as well and don’t need the beeps or flashing lights.
The only way I was able to turn off beeping when opening hatch was to disable PBD on the dash screen , the one behind the steering wheel, but then you have to manually open and close the hatch. Not sure what the acronym means but I still don’t know what half the acronyms mean.Yup I did the locks like that but can imagine getting my turkey gear out in the back with all that beeping!
Ah! so there is a way, Does it open and close fairly easily, like a regular non powered hatch?The only way I was able to turn off beeping when opening hatch was to disable PBD on the dash screen , the one behind the steering wheel, but then you have to manually open and close the hatch. Thinking you'll have to put in a switch to disable the beeper.Yup I did the locks like that but can imagine getting my turkey gear out in the back with all that beeping!
No you have to physically lift it to open and then physically pull/push it down to close, I won’t disable it.Ah! so there is a way, Does it open and close fairly easily, like a regular non powered hatch?
I’m tempted to and may ask my dealer to remove the beep on the PBD. Do you know if GTS+ can also remove the light flashing when using PBD?It can be changed to single or no beep with GTS+.
I changed mine to single.
PBD = power back door.
I'm flabbergasted that Toyota did this. And they charged me $195 for the factory-installed option. Not to mention -- my LC also has the PIO front-door illuminated door sills -- which, of course, are always on whenever the door is open, day or night... (and unfortunately they are not subject to the interior lights switch)I'm still shocked Toyota didn't put a button for the cargo hatch lights and mine sure don't turn off after a certain period of time, what were they thinking. lol. Now I have to do EOD's mod.
