Homelink Garage door opener

I added a homelink 'mirror/bridge' too and have found that the range is more limited than my old/original opener. Can't tell if the limitation is with the electronics in the truck or in the 'mirror.' I've been planning to move the mirror box closer to the garage door at some point. Right now, the LC needs to be fairly close to the garage door for the opener to work.

Homelink seems to be hit-or-miss for me. Our RAV4's homelink works every time, up to a block away. My Highlander and LC work a couple houses away but it's very spotty up close, like in the driveway. I find that holding the button down longer works . . . sometimes.
