So, that went very well, went slow, lots of off the ground work, pictures should tell pretty much everything.
I am very impressed with the mounting pillars and assemblies. A top rate item in every aspect.
Toyota even marks front/left an so on for each piece location.
Very straightforward install and a top rate finished product.
You must use a quality silicone sealant and be generous on the base mounings or it will leak into the inner roof assy.
I have been lusting after this rack for a while, got a great dealio in here from a fellow close by, well worth the effort.

Agree. I looked at that for a bit, i don't get the flimsy construction of that piece, overhung design, the other two are real strong. It almost looked like they want a certain amount of flex.

For someone buying one of these used, does anyone know how many parts to expect? Thinking of the non obvious things like special bolts, etc.

Great thread! I have a Thule Motion 3 XL low I am mounting on the roof rack. I am tinkering with removing the front spoiler so the box can sit on the factory rails verses the Thule risers (the box is not flat on the bottom, so it needs risers).

I don't suppose anyone could comment on whether the front spoiler of the rack is (somewhat) easy to remove?

I took it apart, but didn’t take pictures, but I believe the front spoiler is the crossmember. The front of the OEM/FE rack is not a super solid mount.

Yeah, I looked at the parts diagram and the spoiler looks pretty integrated into the front support. Basically, it looks like you pre-assemble the rack, place it on the roof, and slide it into the supports.

I don't mind using the Thule risers. Aesthetically though, it doesn't look quite how I would like using the risers.

Does anyone have the part numbers for the mounting bolts and rubber gaskets? I am having trouble locating component parts for this roof rack.
