Like this concept. More inclined toward a build up on the console lid for a better elbow lean comfort.

Agreed on this. In fact I'd love a replacement lid that was higher by maybe 3-4" and gave that additional space inside the console.
For those of us stuck with the cooler box, it would make much more room for the aftermarket trays that fit in there.

Double-sided tape. Maybe 3M tape.

This would be a deal killer for me.
