Thanks for posting, I was going to say: my hamura paint is about 3 microns thick. If you have a Takara you better not wash it too many times!Think what was posted might have come from older LC forum posts & YouTube vids dated back in Sept 2024. Hino has since been spun off & today Hamura is now 100% Toyota operations (April 2026).

Paints have changed a lot from the 90s. It's like comparing a 1990s PC vs. a modern laptop.I've never had an issue with Toyota paint on the Land Cruiser or the 4Runner -- Black.
German paint is supposed to be the greatest / thickest / most resilient paint in the world. However, when I was a kid in the early 90's, my parents had a red 300E which oxidized continuously from the day they purchased it new. Very sharp color, with the grey bottom, however, very weak paint.
Toyota's paint is nothing akin to this.
