Dealer added exterior ceramic coating and full around tint for 2299$. Is that a good deal? And what exactly is ceramic coating for the paint?

I was quoted 250$ for driver/passenger window tint for XPEL Prime. The other windows on the LC are already factory tinted.
Regarding the ceramic coating, someone else can provide the going rate. Ceramic coating is not PPF. It’s a liquid applied to the car paint.

The windows aren’t tinted from the factory. It’s privacy glass so they’re a little darker, but they don’t provide any heat rejection or uv protection like tinting them would.

I've met a few people with "high end" cars so to speak and all talk about this ceramic coating? I believe you have to wash the vehicle a "certain" way???

A dealer applied ceramic coating is likely the dealership car wash kid wiping $50 worth of product on your brand new LC (hopefully after he washed it). I would be inspecting the clear coat very carefully before purchasing.

Ask If it was done by a professional detailing company and if a paint correction was done before the application. If the paint correction was done, then it was likely done correctly and it will provide at least a year or so of decent protection before it begins to wear off.

IMO a good coat of wax and a quality detailer spray/polish every 6 months is far less expensive and provides similar results.

My driver and passenger windows are marked UV on the corner brand on the glass. I’m assuming that they block UV by 99% by what seems to be here:

Now the rear side windows are not marked UV.
I did not check the front windshield.

It has to be said: Toyota North America has a huge problem on their hands with their US dealer network. Toyota dealers seem to really be acting like scumbags ever since COVID-19 kicked off. What a group of absolute shit heels.

I had to pay msrp for my LC LC but got ceramic coating by dealer at 50% off, paid 600ish. Was worth it to me, check out the brand they're using first.
I had all windows tinted with ceramic tint by reputable local shop for $900, they did incredible job.
Prices you were quoted seem a bit high. Plus you might be paying financing for those charges too.

Totally agree. Tell these dealers to pound it. Get on the horn and find one that will be straight up with you, they are out there but you may have to travel a ways to work with one.

I wouldn't pay a dealer one cent for any paint prep or protection. Gurantee you that's pure profit and guranteed to be a half ass job. Get it home and do ceramic yourself for $150 if you want it. Not hard, especially on brand new paint.

$900 for a Fullsize SUV? That's over double what all of the nicer tint shops in Omaha charge. Holy smokes...

I paid $400 for entire vehicle 15% Ceramic.

Depends on the vehicle, and if "entire" also includes the front window and sunroof. When I checked around it was about $80 per window and the LC has 11 windows. If not doing the front windshield or sunroof $600 is typical as for reasons windshield was $200 by itself.

In my case, I was happy with the factory tint on all but the front windows and windshield, and doing just those three was $400 (tax included). Doing just the two front windows on the Tesla was $200. Some cars (Honda) have it worse as they have the little triangle windows in the front that add a little more to the cost.

20%* all around and 70% on my front window cost me $1k. It's quality tint.

Ceramic on the paint is a whole different can of worms. Did they have some kid with a spray bottle full of 303/Adams/Turtle Wax Graphene Ceramic or did they do the whole paint correction, clay bay, top end ceramic coating (which can cost $600-$1200, the latter because it takes forever, it's labor intensive.) I would tell the dealer pound sand on the "ceramic" and I would want to know the they and brand of the tint, because there is some real garbage tint out there.

*He "matched" the windows, which requires some math, to get 20% all around.

Ceramic is grossly overblown, unless you have a "for show" car that you keep garaged. Just wash and wax the thing once or twice a year depending on your use/environment.
