Speaking of paint, does anyone that has the black paint gone through the fully-touch car washes? I am nervous about driving it through the full touch car washes, and I have been trying to wash it by hand... unfortunately that is not getting done as much as I would like. Can you let me know what your experiences are please.

I'm exceptionally protective of my paint. I only hand wash using the two bucket method, dirt traps, and continually adding fresh water. However, it is not aways possible. I have no issue using a touch less wash when there are no other options, I just don't do it very often. I manage to do a pretty darn good job of avoiding spiderwebbing. However, I would never dry the vehicle because it does not get all of the dirt off of the paint. It just doesn't and until I can get a hand wash on it, it'll always have some measure of dirt on it. All that said, it's useless practice without proper waxing and paint protection. Proper sealing and waxing the paint finish also is critical in minimizing scratching potential.
Hand washing and waxing is your best bet. As for waxing. Wash then clay bar to make surface ready clean. Use a quality wax like Meguliars ... Or equivalents.

Another option that works especially well for black paint is a ceramic coating.

thanks for the replies, I do plan on clay barring it and most likely using a bottled ceramic; most likely from Mothers. Last time I did it I also polished with a light polish and buffer, that seemed to okay... but it is a lot of work.
