Hello I didn’t see this anywhere else so maybe it’s just me. I got an ARB compressor over the weekend and used it OR. Great except the connection to the top of the battery (the right one as you face it) doesn’t stay. I think it’s because of the battery placement—you can’t fit the clip above it and horizontally you can’t really get purchase either because the red protective cover is in the way. I can get it connected for a bit but it always slides off. Is there a workaround anyone has found or is there a better way to connect that I’m missing? Thanks for any help.

Chris

I did what mikerorke did in this post except I went with an SAE style connector to attach directly to the VIAIR 400EP Automatic.

Attached some pictures of my install. I added a cover to the breaker to prevent the terminals from potentially contacting any ground within the compartment. You want to be extra careful about the run of the connection to the fusible link since if that shorts out and blows your fusible link it is not a part you can readily source from Toyota.

The top part of the red protective cover will tear off, but will snap back on to protect the battery post. That's how mine is now...........

There are a few options:

1- Separate the red protective cover and use the ARB compressor clips.
2- Install a 12v pig tail to the battery posts, cut off the ARB clips and re-terminate a common 12v pig tail.
3- Install a set of remote battery posts/connection points.
4-Unse the under hood jumper point.

Excellent. Thank you for the options you mentioned. I’ll think I’ll try #3 to start—adding posts.

Thank you for this information and the link. I’ve read through this and it looks awesome—perhaps it’s a little more than I can do on my own.
