Apple CarPlay Random Disconnecting

When you loose your wireless connection check your phone settings to see if you're still connected to the truck. I had some issues with the wireless connection dropping and realized i had several devices fighting for connection including my dashcam, once i disable the wireless auto connect for all other devices my connection has been more stable.

This has merit............. I recently installed a "Carplay" monitor on my ebike and facetimed my brother to let him see it in action........... While the iphone was blutoothing the ebike monitor, the iphone would not transmit my video signal to the face time call. Shut off the monitor and my video was restored.

Our 3hr trip to West Virginia was a success with Wireless CarPlay. I did have one instance that carplay was disabled; while picking my daughter up at school. To be fair, I may have shut the car off. We will be making some shorter trips over the weekend and will see if it crashes.

I think the upgrade finally has kicked it. Ive been in the truck for two days now, and have not had a disconnect.

Well the iphone update did not fix the issue, but it is happening less and when I reconnect it, the issue no longer repeats itself.

I’m back with you on that. It is noticeably better, but last night I had my first episode of having to manually connect my car to my phone

Me too having the same problem.
CarPlay is not working after iOS 18.4.1 update: I did a hard restart on the phone and manually made it forget the previous car connection - rehooked it up and I was finally able to get it working with its wired connection again."

I doubt the carplay connectivity issue is primarily an Apple problem. I don't have CarPlay connectivity issue with rental cars. Toyota is obviously not great at software.

The issue has been resolved as a result of the recent iOS upgrade on my iPhone to 18.4.1. The integration is quick with the exception of the SIRI callout, which mutes the driver's side speaker while leaving the co-driver unmuted. Consequently, if you have any music or radio playing, it will continue to play on the co-driver speakers, albeit at a slightly reduced volume, which is still aggravating. The background noise on SIRI Call it impossible to hear Siri's response. The LC's response is inaudible to you. My other models the speakers are instantly mute. Gotta live with it. The dickheads at Toyota Service don't seem to understand, Maybe Sammy fans not Apple.

At least for me the issue is not resolved. iPhone firmware 18.4.1 helped. I just installed 18.5 and hoping it fixes the problem.

Around town it gets frustrating with my apple music resetting randomly. Typically in the morning my daughter wants her "morning mix" (a heavily female rock / girl empowerment playlist). Around town I do not use the GPS that much.

In comparison on road trips we use the XM radio mostly and use the navigation and CarPlay seems to have less issues then.

I am just shocked how this does not impact my Wife's GM / parents Subaru / Mercedes rental with the same phone. And also how vastly different some of the functions are. I love in the GM when I press for Siri, the volume is muted (like everyone else except Toyota) but also the fan is stopped momentarily.

On the plus side, the Toyota app seems to be working better. I have even take a drive without my key without fear of having to walk home.
