LC250
Hey,

New to the forum, I shopped a lot cars around before deciding on this, the LX700h, LC200, GX550 and more, and while each have a lot of strengths, LC250 was really the one that hit home for me. Only thing I may do now is a CV upgrade, and maybe a LR gas tank, the range is pretty bad.

But no issues so far and have been all over with this. These in snow are unmatched. Did a three inch BP51 lift with methods and K03’s, along with some other stuff.

Looking forward to seeing what everyone else has done!

Hello and welcome to a great forum here. Your truck looks really awesome! What size KO3's are you running?

Did you notice a ride quality difference on pavement with your suspension setup?
Oh yeah, huge difference, it’s a lot smoother after the shocks went in for highway and road driving. Also have to drive about 4-5 miles down a dirt road everyday for work and it feels like driving on pavement

What turned you off from the sibling, the GX550? The risk factor of the V6?
That was certainly part of it, I had a Tundra engine go on me a year or so ago, so I’m rather jaded on it. I genuinely like GX, it’s a cool ride, but I don’t really live close to a Lexus dealer at all, so it made it kinda easy.

Welcome! You have a great build going, and it looks like you actually use it for what it’s meant for! Looking forward to many more pics of your adventures over time!

Thanks! And 33’s, didn’t want to risk going much bigger than that.
I ask because it looks perfect. Funny, I have about the same lift and tried 35's for a year. They really did drive great and the 250 handles them very well. There is a slight decrease in power but not much. Then recently I changed to 33's. Not exactly sure why - do not off-road that much so felt like overkill/ wanted to see what mpgs and power would feel like with 33's/and a little worried about the CV issue with additional weight and size of 35's after hearing all this stuff about it, but not sure what to make of it. Also do more sand driving and no need for 35 for that.
My assessment - very little actual difference in feel between the two sizes when driving. Fuel consumption is about 2.5 mpg difference.
Look forward to more posts about your off-road experiences!

Thank you! it's been a labor of love building this thing, it's a shame that these come stock with a limited off-road setup, and yeah, as much as the CV issue does worry me, its just a IFS thing, My buddies old LC200 has broken a CV before on a easy trail, the MPG is the biggest reason, the tanks on these are small enough as it is. I've yet to run into a off-road obstacle that 33's couldn't handle, they've taken me through Moab and plenty of Colorado mountain trails with no issue. Side note, I do plan on lowering the diff just to be extra safe.

You might want to consider a more better 12v battery or get a jump box (if you don't already have one) ......... Yours may last, but it appears you like to tinker with your LC, leaving the door opens for several hours might result in a "no start"

I appreciate that! I was reading some of the posts here. I have a jump kit, but avoiding using it would be preferable. It seems to be a common issue, any battery recommendations?

Nice rig and glad to hear you're enjoying it after the dealer tried to talk you out of one :ROFLMAO: Let us know when you want to pull the trigger on that LR tank and we'll cook you up a good deal!

Thanks!

I’d pull the trigger today on both that Cruiser company rear bumper and swing out, and the LR tank if I had an installer.
