Update: I reached out to aFe Power to ask about how it mounts to the frame. Here's what they said:

"Yes, the bull bar mounts directly to the frame via the factory recovery points along with additional upper brackets that tie into the crash beam area. Eliminates the factory recovery hook but you gain a more accessible shackle mount in its place. "

I was going to reach out to AFE, any idea if it blocks the front radar or park sensors?

Generally, looks just fine. A bit industrial taste/feel which may not blend well with LC profile. (My own opinion as design engineer)

This design makes the front end lower—-> negative effects at approach angle if you do more off-road. However, it can serve well to protect front end from deer hit.

Actually, it’s deserved a decent place in market.

The heavy box is sitting in my garage, patiently waiting for my mechanic to come over to help me install it. It will serve me great with NYC street parking. Now I just need to get some rear steel protection.

I was told by the distributor that it wouldn’t. Reached out to AFE to confirm. Haven’t heard back.

I considered this as well, but determined that I might as well lift it an inch or two.

I would love to have reviewed this by now, but AFE hasn't shipped mine yet after 2 weeks and hasn't responded to my polite inquiry about where it is, given the site says nothing about any sort of lead times.

I heard back and got this response.

"The Bar does not block the radar unit or the proximity parking sensors either, however we have heard of one customer indicating the parking proximity sensors going off. I know this function can be turned off, but we are looking into this. We own this vehicle, and we don't have an issue with any of the sensors. We did add some tolerance to the fitment to allow the bar to be adjusted to the center of the bumper so it may just be an adjustment issue. We have not been contacted by any of these customers, and we are only going by what others have told us. If you happen to be close to the Corona Ca. area, I would be willing to install the bar at no charge to make sure we don't have any issues."

Just heard back from AFE, they said it weighs just under 55lbs.
