Hello!!!! This has struck a chord for me. My husband and I bought a Toyota Prado vx 250 2025 model. With the mild hybrid diesel engine in June 2025, to do a trip around Australia. In November/December we found out, after a major water ingress event of 1-1.5 glasses of water visually entering the vehicle and running down the A frame pillar into the front left passenger footwell (glove box/fuse and connector area), there was a defect in the roof seam at the back left side. It was so hard for Toyota to find they water tested relentlessly. They ended up doing a pressure test and the car has never been the same. Immobilisation events, sudden 48v battery warnings, car won't enter sleep mode, alarm goes off every day, if not every other day, struggles with power, struggles to turn over if we use the cargo, (many more issues with sensors and the app) and Toyota has said they could not avoid the issue or some such thing. I'd have to look at the email again. But either way, they are refuting there is even an issue with the car and telling dealerships not to investigate with a proper 48v specialist (have been told this first hand by one of the many dealers we met with). Which I found out... Only like 10 of these people in Australia. I am curious if anyone else got it this bad? Yours sound like maybe it's not as bad as ours???? But I read the whole thread and took pictures. It looks/reads to me, personally, in my experience, like there is a bit of a "push back" (lack of a better word) stance from Toyota about their new 48v tech and when it malfunctions. Which is interesting as this is the first of the diesel hybrid kind... Right? I'd be interested to hear anyones thoughts on this. Sadly, we just happened to get the one off the rack that the machine needed a calibration to seal the roof, and didn't. That's what we have been told.
