I have a 2024 LC - non-Hybrid version, 2.4 Turbo only - UAE/GCC Version - the output from the USB C ports and wireless charger is the lowest I`ve seen in my past 10 years of owning cars. I have an S24 Ultra and an iPhone 16 Pro Max. When I connect my phone with a 15% battery left on the S24, it shows 4 hours and 30 minutes remaining until full charge. Does anyone else have this problem?

I bought a few power up units to be installed behind those ports, and next time I am taking stuff apart to install switches or other accessories I plan to ump the power for at least one of the ports.

The front usb-c ports support 3A 5V or 15w (owners manual p496), so not quick and not slow, IMO. The Qi charger should be Qi 1.2+ so should also be 15w since anything older was from before 2015 and newer is still 15w.

It’s likely many of us are used to what I’d call standard fast chargers above 15w from the past few years. Doesn’t seem standard in the LC, that’s for sure, and definitely feels even slower than 15w. I ordered a flush 12v cigarette adapter that’ll go behind the center console to give me better charging.

I’m super curious about your install of these power up units though, would love a guide if you have the time!

Hello! I too have a 2025 LC Non-Hybrid version 2.4L Turbo Japan-Asia version.

There was a couple of times that I have heard a static noise coming from the dash when my phone connected to the bluetooth. Sounded like an emergency broadcast alarm. I had to turn off the engine and restart the engine. It didn't come back for a while. Another time was when I used the wireless charging for my Samsung S24 for the first time.

This month I plugged a 70mai A500s dash cam directly to the USB-C port using a USB A-USB C Adapter instead of using the cigarette lighter adapter because it is at the rear seat (don't know why they did that) and the cable won't reach unless the wires are over the center console. It was ok for a week but since then there had been times when there would be a static noise when leave the the dash cam plugged in and start the vehicle. I checked the input requirements of the dash cam and it is 5V and 2.1A just like a cellphone. I checked with the dealer by bringing the box and they also replicated the event. The sound is something like this:

I think the USB C charging ports are not giving constant power enough. Oddly though when the Toyota Service Center took out the connection of the USB C port, the static noise remained. When they took out the connection of Head Media Unit, the static noise disappeared. The Toyota Service has yet to get a service unit for the media to replace mine for observation. In the meantime, they advised me not to charge too many gadgets at once.

Sigh.... i plug my Iphone 16 pro in the C port and it gets very hot and charges crazy fast... so no... no issue

If the pitch of the static rises and falls with the engine revs like in the video then it's probably a ground loop or "alternator whine" (I assume that the non-hybrid versions still use an alternator). Results from poor shielding between the head unit and other circuits in the car (like perhaps your dash cam). There are noise filters you can install to minimize this but it can be a bear to track down the ultimate source and correct circuit to dampen. Easiest solution is to add a filter to the head unit power line. Usually won't make the noise go away completely but will quiet it enough that you won't hear it so long as there is music playing. Sometimes, if your lucky, taking things apart and putting them back together fixes the problem because you're moving wires around and re-seating the connections that are causing the interference but it usually comes back when stuff shifts around or loosens up during the normal course of driving about.

My home to office drive is about 30 minutes or 45-60 minutes in traffic. I routinely set my phone on the wireless charger at the beginning of the drive and the charge level is not appreciably higher once I get there. It seems the charger is only powerful enough to keep the battery level from continuing to decline.

I did add one of the silicone mats that make the charging area look more elegant. Had to pull it out; it does look nice but I have to believe it’s reducing the charge strength. I also begin to wonder if all phone cases are created equal. It just seems like the charger should do more.

All phone cases are not created equal.....LOL

After some very long drives (100+ miles) and my phone was in the case and barely an increase in the amount of charge. I have found that if I take it out of the Mag Safe case, it'll now charge from 30% to 100% on the very same drive.

Yeah, I took advantage of the extra bezel space on the 1958 and put a phone mount there, and then run a coiled USB-C cable to it from the data port...looks good, charges fast, and the Android Auto experience is so much more reliable using the wired connection.

OK so I finally got to upload on youtube.

Any thoughts on what could this be? Could it be the dash cam when plugged in or the head unit itself has interference?

Trying to catch up, but a Dongar Pro has a maximum output of 18w and would give you a port up top by the mirror.

It does suck that Toyota didn't give us a QC/PD port like the 24 Tacoma. Sucks that the Tacoma multimedia port is not QC/PD, but would have also been nice to have a port on the back or side of our multimedia screen.

Sorry, I couldn’t hear it.. 🤔

I dont have this issue at all, to add though, i have the GXR, so no wireless charging pad for me. my iphone 14 pro charges up from 20% to almost full in 30mins give or take. i've also added a ugreen magsafe wireless charger/phone mount and it works perfectly.
