Sorry to be a little dim here - do you mean the bastards will come back and steal my vehicle later - I have a shadow immobiliser which might obstruct a further theft - well it might

It could be that the immobilizer is why you have your car still. Iโ€™ve been researching one to get for my trip through Ontario/Quebec. No local installers in my town.

The shadow immobiliser installer says whilst they can access the unit to unlock and cut alarm they still canโ€™t start it

Apparently the advice once fixed is park with tailgate to a wall !!

Not very convenient with a dog But maybe I will need to try that

I showed my husband the photo....his thought is now that the bad dudes have this piece they will be able to program it to get into other LC's.

I fear you may be correct

I have a secondary imobiliser so hopefully if they do return that will prevent them succeeding in stealing the vehicle but I guess time will tell

I have so far seen only 1 other LC in 6 months of ownership but there are clearly a few now in the UK

The advice is to park with rear up against a wall which is a pain as it makes getting the dog in and out harder and as you say the scrotes may now have the means to unlock the vehicle

This was done in the middle of the afternoon not at 4am under cover of darkness

Any known extra security probably makes your vehicle a pass for the thief. The thief didn't know you had an immobilizer.

I use a Disklok because I'm only at risk about 20 nights a year. I would use an immobilizer if I had a daily risk, but I would probably add stickers.

I've never seen a vehicle with an immobilizer sticker.

I donโ€™t think the supplier or insurer recommend advertising the fitting of an immobiliser

I park in a lot of different parking garages all year long. I back in very close to the wall just to make it harder for someone to break the back window. Thanks for sharing this!

Just realized that I'm glad I got the driver side ladder now. Maybe it slows things down with a weird angle to cut through or be a slight deterrent, but it's aluminum so easy to cut through. I may need to add the propane carrier that goes over the ladder steps.

May sound odd, but quite a few People I know use to keep their keys in the microwave on an evening. To stop this:

Now you can buy Faraday pouches for Keys Iโ€™d recommend that.

In the old days you could get Clifford Alarms with proximity warning, so it would make noise if someone was near your car, that coupled with Blackjax (secret keypad that required a code after 5mins of driving or the engine shuts off) could be a worthwhile purchase.

Or for a no cost option...... just put your fob in sleep mode.

Hold the lock button down, then press the unlock button two times, the let go of the lock button. Press any button to wake the fob up...... ie unlock.
