To shine, or not to shine?

Do you dress (tire shine) your tires?

  • Absolutely! (It’s not a clean car until you put a shine on those shoes!)

I don’t know about you, but to me, there are a few things in life better than black, glossy, freshly shined up tire on a sparkly automobile. It’s always been my favorite part of cleaning my car since i was 16. Wondering where the rest of the Land Cruiser owners stand on this issue of tire dressing.

We live on a dirt road, so tire gloss treatments only result in dirt adhering better to the rubber. Not a great look.

I just cleaned all the tire shine off mine (wasn't easy) and am surprised I like it better. I've always used tire shine on my previous cars.

Shiny tires is the easiest way to spot a pavement princess vehicle. Anyone who goes offroad with any regularity would never put a dust magnet on their car, especially not the wheels.

Yep, not ashamed of it. I go off road once or twice a month (if i'm lucky!) and wash my car weekly.

Also when i do go off-pavement, it is usually grass or sand so minimal scrubbing needed.

I'm with you. I love it.

This has been my go-to for years. It will last for days even though rain.

I have this bookmarked to try later since I have heard good things about it:

I despise it. Always force the dealership to scrub it off, after i politely ask that they not apply it in the first place. That stuff just ends up slinging all over the paint and cant be beneficial for the environment. Enjoy!
