Picked up my First Edition yesterday. Tonight was the first time driving it in the dark. There’s this distracting half oval shadows coming from headlights on the drivers side. I can’t see anything blocking them. Anyone have any ideas about this and how to fix it?

Congrats! This issue was mentioned in another post. However, don't recall a solution.

Complain to Toyota Engagement directly so there’s “enough issues reported”

I finally drove my FE at night and saw the annoying shadows (pic included). They appear symmetrical as shown on the wall but when driving they merge and appear on the drivers side. Has anyone ask the dealer to look at it?

They will tell you it’s designed that way - I asked service and my salesman and Toyota directly - good luck they don’t see a problem

Yep I am having same issue w 2025 LC except the two blurry points are almost together and look like a bottom of a bow tie ….. really annoying.
I will contact corporate Toyota and post a complaint since service can’t do anything about it. They say this is the first time they have heard anyone complain… bs

I noticed this the day I drove mine home. I also noticed my brights need to be aimed up a little - I still haven't gotten around to doing that.

Same with mine, they doesn't quite look like @KMO 's photo. Very annoying

An older thread, but just in case anyone else with a new LC stumble up on this thread, this is a "feature" not a "bug"...

The irregular pattern or "notches" in the light pattern are by design and intended to prevent blinding on-coming two-way traffic.

I got used to it after a week or so. Don't even notice it anymore.

Thanks for the reference to article that explains things better but I don’t agree with the recommendation to not bother reaching out to Toyota. I understand notching out and redirecting light so to minimize / soften the concentrated view from oncoming car but why does it have to be such a drastic notch that it looks like a dancing bow tie in front of LC driver? Can’t there be more notches and them being more in a fan out so that they feed the main body of light not the edge where it is so annoying ? Not an engineer but geez?

Drive it on a dark 2 lane road at night with an occassional oncoming car. You will see the notches fit perfectly in the spots of the oncoming driver and passenger. The W is a design feature not a flaw. I appreciate the thoughtfulness. So many new LED headlights are soooo bright these days.

Welcome to the asylum..

Read the post above your original post. It is a feature, designed to prevent blinding oncoming drivers. It is not a design flaw ‘issue’.
