Roof Rack to Roof Rails

Yes, though I did it without the sealant. I also put the gaskets on the rail feet instead of the roof (oops). I just did it last night so hopefully they don't leak and someone doesn't come on here telling me that I need to take it apart, order new gaskets and try again.

BTW, I went from a naked roof to adding the OEM rails and 2 cross pieces. I'm a little surprised at how loud they are at about 70mp. I had the OEM rails and bars on my 4Runner and on our TX and neither sounds nearly as loud. The LC sounds like there's a tornado on the roof on the highway.

You installed the seals properly pet the Toyota installation instructions. It also says to heat the part up prior to sticking the seal to the surface of the rack, but I doubt that will create an issue (Toyota says to use a heat lamp, but I used a heat gun). As long as you hit the proper torque on all the bolts, you should be good.

I'm pretty sure I nailed the torque using the German standard measure. Tight enough that it's not going anywhere, but not so tight that I broke anything. Gutentight.
Just gotta be really careful with torque specs on stuff like that. Of If I recall correctly, it is 7 lb-ft for the silver bolt in the middle bracket and 17 lb-ft for the rest of the bolts. Just run it through a car wash a few times to see if you get any water inside.
