I know the whole roof rack topic has been flogged to death so sorry but…….
A friend has the Ineos Grenadier and has imported a great rack and storage system from the US. What really works well is that the rack can be set low as the Grenadier has bars/rails on the side just below roof height, the picture will explain better!

Ideally I’d like to keep the roof rails and fix a rack almost flush with them, noting that I’ll need about 20mm of clearance above the current roof rails for the sliding panoramic sunroof.

1) Has anyone got a recommendation on a low profile rack that can be used in conjunction with the standard roof rails??

2) I expect I have to delete the rails and install a rack such as the Toyota 3/4 length rack which I think is part no. PT970-60241 (I want some sky above the sunroof). I’m sure Toyota have worked it out but it appears that the front wind deflector would get in the way of the sunroof when opening. Anyone have this 3/4 length rack with the full panoramic sunroof?

Thanks.

p.s. the Roam boxes look great too. Sadly they don’t ship to the UK.

I've been wondering the same. In my case I was looking more at cargo baskets, but in general wondering about something I could remove when I don't need it, but carry extra gas and maybe a few other things when I do. Hopefully aluminum -- I got a cargo basket for my first FJ that was already rusting when I got it (I returned it) and became infamous for leaving rust stains on the white FJ roofs for people who kept them.

Thanks guys, both these crossbars look like good options if I am to keep the side rails.

I had the stealth bars on my CrossTrek.

I also got 2 Prinsu Load panels and black anodized t-slot railing to create a frame that attached the panels to the bars.

Neat set up, thanks

Does anyone have the Victory 4x4 cross bars on their 250 now?
They look about perfect for what I want, but look like they could be loud too.

Gamiviti has low profile racks for the LC250. If you're looking for one that doesn't cover the sun roof scroll down to the "short" rack. I have one on order, should be able to get some feedback in a few weeks when it's installed.

Thanks, these low profile racks look ideal but my Invincible model 250 has the panoramic sunroof (see photos) which lifts 2.25” when opened. It sits just proud of the side rails so no chance of having the short rack with the front wind deflector.

I guess I will have to take a full length rack and sadly not a nice low profile one………..

What's the brand of this rack?

My friend’s Grenadier has an Owl roof rack.

Thanks Gregh, that’s a fully comprehensive list of rack options!
You guys are so lucky with what you can buy in the States, the choices here in the UK are pretty limited in comparison. We can get ARB and Front Runner gear plus a few others.

I’m really surprised how high the panoramic sunroof goes when opened (2.25”) - do you have this sunroof on the First Edition or Premium spec cars in the US? I wonder if anyone has experience with which racks work with that sunroof?

If we're going to start listing roof rack options, I haven't seen this one mentioned here:

ARB & Front Runner have UK outlets. Rhino Rack has one in Germany. If something isn't listed on sites outside the US they may still be available.

Removed the First Edition roof rack that came with my 1958 and installed a set of OEM roof rails, which I got from another owner without any mounting hardware. It was a bit of a process to figure out all the correct bolts and bits needed, but in the end everything came together well. I'm still waiting on two bolts for the middle stanchion, which will be easy enough to add when they arrive in a few days. I had ordered, and subsequently cancelled, a Prinsu Pro full length rack as we likely wouldn't utilize the added functionality of that kind of rack. I like the more conventional setup of roof rails with my Thule cross bars and Vector M cargo box (with all our family's travel stickers).

This set-up looks great and seems super functional for what I'm looking for. I also don't need a full length roof rack but would like crossbars on my 1958 for surfboards, SUP's, etc..... are these the Thule WingBar EVO's?
