I've only seen FEs, so I don't know the answer. From the toyota website it looks like only materials differ from all LC trims except 1958. I guess it's a bit on topic as OP asked why buy an FE...
For me on long trips, that was a contributing factor. Had it on my Sequoias and made long trips easy.
In other news, anyone have a blue print on the rails. Be a bit easier than measuring them.

Did you get them? How are they?I ordered these for my FE. They are sliders with a step. Frame mounted. Steel but also a functional step.
They said they should be shipping them in two weeks so I can report back when I get them mounted but to me, it’s the best of both worlds (form and function).

How long did they take to ship? The website says 12 to 14 week lead time
I’d say that’s probably accurate. I preordered them back in August and didn’t get them till end of November.
I just placed the order. Pretty steep $ with the shipping but I'm with you, they seem the most solid, clean looks, purposeful, and not intrusive to install.
