2024 Land Cruiser
Hey there - brand new here. Admittedly know very little about automobiles in general, but love the reliability and value of Toyota.

My question: Currently have a 2024 Land Cruiser 1958. I broke the recline lever on the side of my back passenger seat and wondering if someone could help with guidance in ordering a replacement part. So far I’ve browsed the internet, but it’s very hard for me to tell exactly which lever I need. Feel like it could be the lever with Part Number: 7252526160C0 - but again, I’m unsure.

Thanks. I do appreciate any input and assistance.

I think this is it.

FYI I just had my driver side 2nd row lever replaced under warranty and the dealer said I'm the third one they've seen. I'd try that route if you haven't fixed it yourself already.

Okay, maybe I'm clueless but how is this happening? Granted I almost never have anyone in my back seat (unless you count my wifes dogs then there are "people" in the back seat). If I can prevent this maybe I can preempt this in the future.

If you just pull on the lever without assisting the seat back, the handle seems like it'll break and for some , I guess it did.

I don't know what the mechanism looks like inside but it feels like it relies on a lot of leverage from the handle. When it's broken the lever still turns but not in a clean planar arc. Like it pulls away from the seat as it turns. I imagine it's just a reinforcement in the handle that breaks but when it's like that the pull isn't long enough to actually release the latch.

I've taken to turning it like a knob rather than pulling the lever up if that makes sense. While it was broken you could feel that the pull was longer if you tried to keep it all flush against the seat. I don't know that it changes the forces on the handle so I doubt it will help keep it from breaking. It feels like a more consistent motion though.

This came up on the gx forums as well. Its a poor design.
