Repair issue - truck transmission failure

Guys, please help with any info/recommendation. A good friend is US has an issue with the transmission on a 2018 Nissan Titan XD V8 5.6L. Just out of warranty, 20 000 miles !
Nissan dealer wants to replace the transmission for just $7200

I would try a Nissan truck forum to find someone who has experienced the issue and worked through the repairs.

Thank you! I I will. Generally speaking are these V8 automatic transmissions impossible to repair ? Do dealers repair transmissions ? i assume there are specialized workshops. But probably not easy to find a good one.

Have him check with AAMCO Transmission and Total Car Care - They specialize with transmission repairs. It might be much cheaper then the dealer.

FYI. Happy End! Due to the low mileage the claim to NIssan was accepted and they covered 90% of the cost. The Titan XD got a new transmission. This truck had 5 years 100,000 miles bumper-to-bumper warranty.
