I am trying to narrow down a rattle I’ve been chasing. What are the common areas to look at, I am sure it’s coming from the cargo area passenger side.

I have already taken out the cargo cover, adjusted both rear seats making they are latched in, and all grab handles appear to be attached as well. Rear license plate has no frame and is also held on tight.

I am running out of ideas before I attempt to disassemble more interior pieces.

I assume you have checked all the storage trays for loose items.

My suggestion is to have some else drive and you sit in the rear cargo area and try and narrow down the area the rattle is coming from. Rear seat normal locked position, then the seat back folded fwd, then fully folded etc...........

Quick update, as weird as it sounds I believe the rattle is temperature related.

When I leave the vehicle parked at work all day long until 2 pm or so in the sun (Chicago heat, around 90-95 degree temps) the first few miles until I get to the highway, the rattle is non-stop over rough street surfaces or any bumps. As the car gets cooler with the AC, it quiet downs on the highway to not return. When I leave for work in the morning around 5 am and the vehicle has been garaged overnight, it does not rattle.

I have checked the floor cubbies and storage and everything there seems okay. I have also put down the passenger rear seat today thinking it was that. Nope. Still made the noise. I am running out of options here and I really don't want to rip the interior apart to track down this rattle.

I've banged around all the rear interior pieces in the back hoping to replicate this but to no avail. And while they all fit somewhat "loosely" nothing really rattled. When I mean loosely, my previous Audi interior components were held in place kinda more stout if that makes any sense.

The search continues....

I'm going through this with the "b" pillar rattle, my vehicle is at the dealership now while they find/repair the rattle. I'm supposed to get it back today or tomorrw, here is a link from the lexus forum of ratlles in some of their 550's, maybe it'll help with yours.
