Unfortunately that won't work in my case. The order was from August 2023. A one year wait time was not unusual for them in the past. It now appears that he had a Ponzi scheme scenario in place.

I have FE and I didn't want to replace the rock rail which is expensive. So I was looking for detachable steps. And I found "RealTruck RKR Detachable Steps JPTS32"

I had to cut them to fit between the two rails to 50 mm wide. Because I cut the one side, the holes weren't aligned so that I needed thinner bolts and long 3 inch bolts to hang them at the right position.
They don't have dressy look, but they are practical and cheap.

The description is confusing, it shows a body mount design (steps) but the text says it mounts to the frame (as rock rails would).

I was wondering the same thing and google has been no help. Anyone have them? I have the rock sliders and will probably replace them with something else at some point. I'm sliding off the driver's seat to reach the ground and know it's going to eventually crush the bolster of the seat.

The OEM illuminated boards don't light up much. There is one light (not very bright that casts light on the rear portion of the running board with approach function and door open (nothing on the ground from the running board lights). It is lack luster lighting performance and the OEM Harness only provides about 9VDC so any light attached will be dimmer than normal.

Bad1975 is 100% correct the OEM voltage at the running board connector will not power any LED light beyond a low to medium brightness. Works great for what it was designed for .... illumination to avoid stepping into a puddle. I went with aftermarket LED lights hooked to the OEM harness for the puddle effect but I also wanted "full bright" so I used 2 relays to switch the input power from the OEM 9ish v to a full 12v, the relays are controlled by a physical switch. Switch "off" OEM proximity lighting, switch "on" full bright undercarriage lights.

I found a fellow on Etsy who does 3D printing of steps for the LC250 rock rails (and other vehicles). I tried the 5-inch size below the front doors. Easy to install and seem solid after a month's use. They really help getting in-and-out and have been tested to hold 600 pounds. Unsure how they would fare with a rock hit, although I'm guessing that might break the locking pins which could be easily replaced.

Kind of expensive and use-at-your own risk, but the vendor makes to order and is very responsive.

I went with 1.5" spacer blocks to move the rock rails outward. Works better as a step but still a little high for comfort......... Might be time to take a chance on modifying a set of retractable running boards meant for a Tacoma.
