How easy are these to remove if you need your windshield replaced?

I have these sitting in my garage but have been too afraid to do the cutting.Any tips? I also thought about just going straight through the cowl, through a spacer, and bypassing the actual metal plates. I can’t figure out if the “R” will drive me nuts or not.

Good thoughts there. The cutting and drilling is all easy and easy to follow, however the cowl trimming itself no matter how perfect you are to their cut dimensions will probably leave an approx 1/32" gap here or there depending on positioning. I just used some black RTV and a wet finger to "caulk" it and it's only noticeable if you're actually looking for it. As I was saying though, they're solid as all hell and I would make sure you not only squeeze the rivet nuts in but also apply a bit of epoxy or JB Weld, as well as replacing the bolts for stainless hardware. One thing I should add that I forgot to above was that I ultimately tossed the long bushing type spaces as well as the little locking washers that hold that all together. Not having those bushing installed seemed to make zero difference in how solid they bolt down.
