Interesting, I work for the City and I find the "cloud" navigation in the LC to be well up to date with the current road construction happening throughout the city showing on the native map. I was actually impressed. I guess I will have to see what happens when the trial is over.

My subscription died on Aug. 1, exact to the day we purchased the LC. Onx is useful as Android Auto is unreliable.

This is the worst part of the subscription running out - you get the nag screen every time you start up now.

My 2021 Rav4 does not do this (which also has a subscription option for navigation/etc), but instead it remembers you just want to go to carplay because you are a normal person.

So I’m wondering if I cancel all of the trail subs now, before they expire, if I’ll be spared the BS nagging

I never accepted the trials and just use CarPlay. Toyota nav is just a “subscribe” screen. I think for 70k we should get free nav. Toyota not treating its customers well in this regard.

Subscriptions are the future. TSS 4.0/Arene OS is coming, in the 2026 RAV4 initially, and reading between the lines, subscriptions. BMW attempted to charge for the activation of heated seats, but owners put up a fuss.

I really dont think Toyota listens to its customers. This is evident in some of the problems that their autos still have after people have been complaining about since 2020 and longer.

On my wife's Crown platinum, after the one year trial, it's a $15/month "Drive Connect" subscription for the on board Navigation to work at all. Of course that does include other things like remote start, etc.
