Another small thing but definitely annoying for $70K cars. Come on Toyota!

It’s been one year since I purchased my LC LC Premium and the maps in dashboard cluster has now disappeared. This happened after my drive connect expired. I don’t mind the 2nd option to show on my dashboard, Adaptive Cruise Control, but I wish it was just the image without the wording. It’s obvious enough and the font is too big and the square shape that overlays. I am just being too picky.

Can someone who’s drive connect has expired confirm their maps has also disappeared?

Now my options are:
1. Blank
2. Adaptive Cruise Control
3. Blank (Used to be maps)
4. Settings
5. Messages

Mine had disappeared as well, it never occurred to me that it was due to the subscription expired. That blows!

Definitely blows. Without maps all of a sudden the dashboard cluster seems outdated compared to the competition specially at the LC premium price point

The map display on the digital dash should still show directions from Apple Map, when you navigate via Apple CarPlay. So does the HUD. But if you use any other map apps, it won't show. I don't show the map on my dash and never navigate with the built-in Toyota map, so I won't miss it when it goes away in a year. But what did bother me in our last Highlander when the subscription ended was staring at a blank infotainment screen, unless I switch it to radio or CarPlay.

The map on my dash has disappeared too. However, the other day after pumping gas, I got back in and carplay wouldn't connect but map was back on the dash. I was there for a few days but now is gone again. My Drive Connect is still active. Was planning on taking it to dealer to see if they could update infotainment to fix it.

This morning, I started the car with Toyota nav on, not CarPlay and the map was back on the dash. I switched to Waze on CarPlay and the map disappeared. I stopped Waze and switched back to Toyota nav and the map on the dash came back.

I guess the system just doesn’t display the map on dash when using nav app other than Toyota nav.

Totally agree when my sub ran out so did my map. a 70 plus thousand dollar landcruiser that cant tell you where you are when off roading which the LC is made for. My Car play does not work in the deep woods. However when the sub ran out on my rubicon or my 2013 LC the base map still kept us safe. This is such a cheap selfish decision by Toyota on there flagship machine.
