Backlit better for me too.
 
Mine arrived today. Pretty neat little doodad for 35 bucks. I’ll probably never notice it again within a week!
 
I like mine too, it came today also.
Not sure if ill use it but it really nice.
 
So i just gave the new knob a good look.
Really nicely done, excellent size and workmanship.
I will install it and go form there, simple push on.
Its so nice i dont care about losing the back lit function at all.
I thought the topo version might be kinda gayish, not at all, really classy.
Critical, the right size.
You won't be disappointed.
 
Has anyone removed the back lit version. I just tried really on there, i am afraid to break the shaft or worse.
What am i doing wrong?

Yes, and mine was VERY difficult to get off!! Ultimately, I used a nylon panel removal pry tool, and ended up getting the original button off in two pieces (the silver outer "dial" and the black body). I don't think anything actually "broke", and the the two pieces of the knob could probably be snapped back together again, but I haven't tried -- because the new knob is really nice!!

Just popped mine on, thought I was going to rip off my whole console when I pulled the knob. Then it easily popped out after a second. Looks way better(don’t even use it, but it looks better)
 
Just put mine on. Way better feel when you quickly want to lower or increase volume. I use the steering wheel controls most of the time. But very easy install. Didn’t even use any tools. Feels and looks great.

Looks like mine will arrive on Saturday. It got shipped but for some reason their email notification system wasn’t working properly. All good!
 
I just installed mine. Totally painless. The slipperiness of the OEM one irritated me. I never noticed it was backlit til I read it here. The Mace one fit perfectly and looks great. Glad I did it.

Thanks for the pictures, I was hesitating without a 1958 reference image.
