The official launch time is expected to be around July 2024, with a planned monthly production capacity of 3,000 vehicles and an annual production capacity of 36,000 vehicles.
Below just about project and new LC250 Plant info, let me know if need translation. China is going to have the same powertrain as the US but the specs is slightly different, there is only center lock.

Out of curiosity, why does Toyota bother to make 250s in China? Couldn’t they just ship them over from Japan? Can’t imagine it’s a huge market for them.

I’m not confident this is accurate info. I’ve only heard Hino and Tahara plants and thats from someone I’m related to high up in Toyota Corp.

from what I've heard from semi-reliable sources on the ground in China, China is playing strong tariff game supporting local auto-manufacturing. Basically, if Toyota will pay all the tariffs then LC will not be competitive with Chinese cars, so to stay competitive they had to build a factory there Other manufactures (BMW, Tesla, GM, Ford, VW, MB, Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Hyundai, Jeep(?), you name it) had to follow the rules of this game and built their factories there too.
