It’s a little noisy, but handles just fine. About what you would expect. So I have to ask, I have the same setup but minus the tent. How is the on road handling with that much weight up high and how is the wind noise. Thinking about purchasing a 3.0 to do some exploring.
I’m not quite sure what you mean, but here is a video of our whole setup.I’ve always wanted an ikamper but from the specs I was looking at online, I wasn’t thrilled with the overhang it would have on the rack, but that being said I haven’t found one that doesn’t overhang… how is yours? Is it an issue at all? Dream is to have one with an awning and annex that we can have the kiddos in, but when it overhangs that much I’m not sure this dream is feasible… thoughts?
At least the esperance ARB - this is the prinsu pro with rtt risers - it has no overhang. I’ll see if I can maintain that - putting on an awning today. But from the base measurements I did, it seems like most if not all RTT’s overhand the racks by at least a few inches?
It extends exactly 0.0 inches.yea that was some pretty random thoughts all thrown together, specifically I was asking how much the ikamper extends beyond the rack on the sides when it’s closed. Maybe it’s just your rack? But from the base measurements I did, it seems like most if not all RTT’s overhand the racks by at least a few inches?
He might be referring to the overhang on the sidesIt extends exactly 0.0 inches.
Yes. You’re right - It’s less than 3 inches over the roof rack, but it doesn’t make the car wider.lol I am referring to the overhang on the sides… I came from a Tacoma where I barely ever took off my RTT, so if I commit to this I just want as much opinion as I can get. Again, from what the website said the ikamper sky camp 3 dimensions overhang the rack on the sides by I think almost 3” on each side? So is that true?
